Vamara-noxille / Vampire's disease
Vamara-Noxille is a disease feared by most Avarris, individuals infected with it turn into savage creatures of the night, killing any and all in their path. This disease is most commonly associated with the Order of the Tusk as all it's members are either infected or seeking to become infected.
The incubation period for this disease is three to five days, during which the Avarri in question will dream violent but oddly comforting dreams. They will begin to crave foods with high amounts of calcium in them as their body begins to weaken.
Identifying someone with Vamira-Noxille is fairly easy, usually their teeth grow longer and the whites of their eyes turn darker, until they eventually become black. Their skin and scales will also turn a sickly pale color.
In the ''unturned'' state the disease is still curable, however the longer one waits, the harder it is to cure and the more hostile the Avarri becomes.
During the ''turning'' phase, the infected Avarri will grow solitary, avoiding most, if not all, contact with others. They will experience a lot of pain, followed by a near-death experience that finalizes the turning into a vampire.
Life as a vampire isn't as different compared to the normal life of an Avarri. The largest changes are an individual's newfound need to consume lots and lots of calcium, a need that is most easily met by consuming bones or horns of other Avarris, making encounters with them fatal. Vampire Avarris, or Vamarris, have a severe hypersensitivity to sunlight, much like regular vampires. Vamarris are able to do most of the things your standard vampire can, walk over water, scale walls, run faster and hit harder. The main thing Vamarris can not do, is change their shape into that of a bat or wolf, instead they keep their normal dragon form and the benefits they gain from it. Vamarris are typically also more resistant to fire than the typical vampire, but this comes at the cost of a sensitivity to light. Vamarris are typically found in dark areas during the day, and prefer to stalk the darker streets at night.
There is currently no way to cure Vamarris from their disease. It is advised to steer clear from them.
